8K a year 12 days ago 12 days ago 12 days ago Position Summary As an Endoscopy RN, you will provide direct professional nursing care for patients receiving Endoscopy or other Outpatient Procedures by utilizing nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills.
Performs technical nursing functions, utilizes the nursing process to assess patient status, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Ensures a therapeutic and safe environment for patients and families within the guidelines and policies of the department and the philosophy of the organization.
This position provides age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Key Responsibilities Interviews patient and family to obtain appropriate history and reviews collected data to provide accurate assessment.
Assists physician during procedures and performs associate functions under physician direction (i.
e.
biopsy).
Administers medications appropriately following hospital policy and within scope of practice.
Monitors patient during and after procedure until requirements for discharge are met.
Provides patient education before and after procedures with written discharge instructions.
Cleans and disinfects equipment according to approved policy and procedures.
Handles all specimens according to lab/hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications Current RN license in MN Two years recent hospital-based nursing experience Prefer one year RN experience in Endoscopy procedures with sedation Current BLS and ACLS certifications, or willingness to obtain within 6 mo.
of start date (company paid) Schedule 64hrs/2wks Scheduled various days, Monday-Friday Shift start times between 6:
15am and 8:
00am and end times between 2:
45pm and 4:
30pm Must be willing to share in picking up hours when an emergent case arises on evenings, weekends or holidays, on average once a month.
