Kennel Team Member Supervisor:
Kennel Lead and Daycare Lead (Part Time) Position Purpose:
The purpose of the Kennel Team Member position is walking, feeding, caring for, and bathing dogs in the kennels and pet hotel and supervising and maintaining a safe space.
In addition, the team member will also be responsible for cleaning, feeding and caring for all of the cats staying in the Cat Condos.
For doggy daycare shifts responsibilities include; supervising and monitoring all dogs during playtime and caring for all dogs that are assigned to doggy daycare and the pet hotel each day.
Animal safety and comfort are our top priorities! Job Responsibilities ( denotes essential job functions) Must be able to lift 50 pounds bags of dog and cat food 10% of the work day Supervise and monitor hotel dogs Prepare the daycare play areas before each daycare session.
IE:
put out play toys and tunnels, fill water dishes, look and remove foreign debris that could be ingested or consumed by the dogs Prior to morning shift be able to run dogs from Retail Store check-in to their respective kennel area Filling out written injury report and follow clinic protocol for sick or injured dogs Noting dog's records of warnings or concerns effecting playtime in the AVImark database Evaluating dogs for playtime compatibility Cleaning linens, beds and food dishes during daily operations Clean kennels, floors, windows, doors, and outdoor runs Bathe dogs after seven nights in regular boarding and three nights in the hotel suites Ensure that all dogs and cats are properly medicated as necessary Must be able to work a variety of shifts including 6:
00am, noon and 5:
00pm and weekends (A typical shift will last two to three hours depending on how many animals are boarding with us) All workers are required to work a minimum of two major holidays per calendar year (All three shifts per holiday) General duties that include:
o Feeding and caring for dogs and cats in boarding o Bathing dogs o Cleaning kennels and cat condos o Care for surgery patients that stay overnight o Laundry for kennels and clinic o General cleaning of the kennels indoor and outdoor o Cleaning the Doggy daycare area o Walking dogs o Filling out report cards o Filling out bowel/urine charts for all cats and dogs o Clean and care for dogs/cats in surgery, holding and isolation areas o General cleaning which includes sweeping, vacuuming rugs, emptying trash, washing dishes, and removing waste from waste station.
o Administer medication, and special needs items (such as treats or specialized food) to dogs and cats after employed trial period of 30 days.
